I miss Dark Arts. Not that I don't like Defense Against the Dark Arts, it's just a different atmosphere. The two courses are taught in such different ways. It's like going from watching a quidditch match from the best seat in the stands to actually flying in or even above the match. There's a different perspective. Going from two extremes it just throws studying off a bit. I've had to recondition my mind for studying DADA versus Dark Arts. I''m just glad I'm in my last year and I won't have to go back to Durmstrang and relearn how to study Dark Arts theory.

Do you have any broom or just basic quidditch equipment magazines? I have one but it's about two months old - I was trying to find something more up to date.

Have you seen Slava? He is usually back from his journey by now. I'm worried the girls' letters are lost.

As if I wasn't ready to head out on holidays before, I received my weekly letter from the girls this morning. They went shopping in a muggle town near the estate and found an old camera. They had бабушка take a picture of them and then they wrote me a message on it. I felt this had to be shared, as many of you (at least you foreigners - and by that I mean not from Durmstrang) do not know what my sisters look like.

So I've figured out what I'm doing for the holidays. Three days at home in Moscow, and the rest of the time at my Grandparents estate in Ireland with my favorite girls. With a quick stop in the middle to go to Tiev's grave. Should be a lot of fun. I'll be happy to see all the dogs and take them out for a nice winter run. And Grandmother always throws the "best and most fashionable holiday parties" if she does say so herself. No joke, those are her words every year. At least there's a lot of room on the estate to just get away and relax. I could use that. The full sized pitch is also nice to have around.

If you don't have other plans you are welcome to come on holidays with me. Grandmother always seems to rant and rave about you, and Grandfather thinks you are some Irish saying about how cute you are that I truly don't remember how it goes. I'm pretty sure he calls you a lass every time, though. I'm sure my parents especially mom would love to see you too. It would be nice to have the company. That is, only if you want to come along.

There's something about Halloween that just doesn't sit right with me. Maybe it's the idea of a ball. Maybe it's the costuming and parading around. I don't really know. I don't really care. I figure I should go, you know, at least to show some kind of support for the union of the schools and some such nonsense. But - and my parents would kill me if they heard me say this - I don't really care about the pleasantries right now. Maybe it's the medicine they doped me up on at the hospital wing. Who knows.

Well, I figured if I have to go might as well find someone to suffer through it with me. Someone that might be able to spruce up the evening. Thought about asking Cel, but I hear she and Jana have plans to go together. Wonder what the boys have planned. Why don't I want to go? If someone could only answer that question for me...only I don't want to ask it. Anyway, I guess I should find a costume just in case I decide to make an appearance. Wait...is this thing mandatory. What should I be for Halloween? Any suggestions? My mind seems to have drawn a blank so I leave it to all of you clever people to help me pick a fitting costume.
